German import Rottweilers sounds quite impressive right? Exactly!

So does that mean that Rottweilers and Stingrays should be banned from the world and crocodiles are gentle as hey: Steve Erwin played with them all the time….

I got some comments in my Clever dog names post about Rottweilers as if I am advocating that Rottweilers are bad. Well, I am not.

My first dog was a Rottweiler and the main reason I bought him was because he would grow big and therefore could help me out guarding my house that I lived in all by myself.

It’s definitely not a dog to keep on your tiny apartment: this dog has lots of energy and needs to let off steam. And although they look fierce, they are lovely around kids.

Facts about Rottweilers

• Rottweilers are a large dog breed originating in Germany as herding dogs.
• Rottweilers worked as beasts of burden, carrying wood and other products to market.

• A well trained and socialized Rottweiler is a reliable, alert dog and a loving companion.
• Rottweilers are fond of children, very devoted, quick to learn, and eager to please.

The Rottweiler is a working dog that is also good for:

• protection of children,

Any poorly trained dog can become a danger in the wrong circumstances!

Lots of pets will warn you before they go to their ultimate defence: attack. Rottweilers don’t waste too much time giving warnings. When the male attacks, he tends to go very still: no warning growl nor warning movement…

Who is the biggest killer of them all?

Well: switch on your TV news and count:

• how many people are killed by Rottweilers today?
• how many people are killed by other people today?

That should give you an indication that it is not German import Rottweilers we need to be afraid of… humans clearly have a more violent nature…

So Kristin Davis once rescued a puppy from a dog breed with a famous royalty name in it, yes you got that right: she has a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

Being an actress herself, she named her puppy after another famous actress: Elizabeth Taylor.

Meanwhile puppy Elisabeth Taylor became a full grown mother of 3 new puppies, one Kristin is holding in the picture below (fully clothed both the puppy as well as Kristin Davis…)
